Dr. Ajay Rajan Gupta
Managing Director & Group Chief Executive Officer, IUIH
Dr Ajay Rajan Gupta MBBS, MS, MRCS, FRCS, FIUIHRCS, MCh is a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at the NHS with over 20 years in the medical field. As Managing Director and Group CEO of IUIH, Dr. Gupta has spearheaded the project leading a team of Indian and UK based promotors with the support of the Indian and UK Governments. He has had extensive experience in the areas of healthcare policy, management and research and has been an advisor to various government agencies and organisations. Additionally, Dr. Gupta’s work has been recognised by various organisations. In 2011 he was awarded the ‘Young Entrepreneur Award’ in Dubai for his work on Healthcare Excellence across the UAE. In 2012, he was awarded the ‘Achievers Healthcare Award’ in India for his contributions to Affordable Healthcare in India. In 2013, he was awarded ‘Young Scientist Award’ in Las Vegas for drawing up strategies and framework for Universal and Affordable Healthcare. In 2014, he was awarded ‘Medical Maestro Award’ by Mr Richard Harrington, Vice Chairman of the Conservative Party at the House of Lords, London.
Mr. Howard Lyons
IUIH Non-Executive Director
Howard Lyons CBE is a highly-qualified company director and healthcare management professional with 45 years’ experience of public and private sector healthcare throughout the UK and in over 70 countries worldwide advising on operational management, business planning and strategic health sector reform. Clients have included International Aid Agencies such as the World Bank, European Union, ADB, DfID, United Nations and the International Finance Corporation as well as national government agencies, private hospitals, commercial organisations and a large number of teaching hospitals, NHS Trusts and public authorities in the UK.
Howard was the first Managing Director of Healthcare UK, established in 2013 by the Department of Health, NHS England and UK Trade & Investment achieving international contracts for UK organisations to the value of £5billion in China, India, Brazil and the Middle East in its first three years.
Mr. David Mc Vittie
IUIH Non-Executive Director
David is a Physics graduate and Chartered Accountant (PWC) with thirty years executive level experience within British Telecom and the NHS in England, including fifteen years as hospital Chief Executive. Eleven years as CEO at Hillingdon Hospital, leading the trust from being ranked nationally in the bottom quartile for overall performance to top quartile and becoming the first District General Hospital in London to achieve Foundation Trust status. Led the merger to create London North West Healthcare acute and community trust (8000 staff across 24 sites). Regarded as being an inspirational people centred leader with strong values.
Dr. Mohan Kaul
IUIH Non-Executive Director
Dr Mohan Kaul is an influential and well-connected policy adviser, business leader, social entrepreneur, development specialist and academician. He was the founding Director General and Chief Executive Officer and latter Chairman of the Commonwealth Business Council which was established by the Commonwealth Heads of Government (CHOGM) in Edinburgh in October 1997. During that period, Commonwealth trade increased to over $4 trillion dollars and investment flows reached over $200 billion with some countries receiving FDIs for the first time. He was responsible for establishing the Commonwealth Business Forum as a part of CHOGM since Dr Kaul has been a member of the Presidential Advisory Councils of Mozambique, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia and similar councils in other countries and works closely with them.
Mr. Simon Hirst

Simon is a Senior Executive with over 20 years’ experience of property, operational, commercial and financial management. His knowledge and experience level cover a diverse range of sectors including residential, healthcare, property and nuclear, leading teams of up to 130 staff to successfully deliver projects, programmes and portfolios up to £4bn.
Specialist experience includes healthcare, where he has worked for numerous Clinical Commissioning Groups, Primary Care Trusts, Strategic Health Authorities, Acute Hospitals, Primary Care and Dental Care operators including Vamed, TDL, BMI, UK Special Hospitals, Aspire Dental Care, NetCare and CareUK, delivering over £3bn service contracts

Mr. Paul Davies
IUIH Group Director of Investment
Mr. Paul Davies is the Head of Finance and Investment for IUIH, responsible for raising and managing finance for the IUIH group. For the last 20 years Paul has been a Corporate Finance Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, specialising in raising finance for major projects including Swindon hospital, the £1.6bn M25 widening, the £1.8 bn Allenby barracks and a large number of public private partnerships. Paul set up PwC’s Debt Advisory practice and worked for 13 years for HSBC bank financing major projects. He is therefore a specialist in raising debt and equity finance for major projects internationally and has a wide experience advising and doing deals alongside the public sector.
Mr. Marc Ramaer
Group Commercial Director Industry
Marc has over 20 years of commercial leadership experience in healthcare and medical devices, with extensive knowledge in tendering and commercial contracts, M&A, organisational change, project management and price and profit optimisation.
He has worked in various sales and commercial capacities in Canada, USA, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland and the UK, including his most recent post as EMEA Director Commercial Operations for Zimmer Biomet.
In his role as Group Commercial Director, Marc will lead all industry procurement contracts and long-term partnership relationships with the aim to drive value creation for all stakeholders involved in the IUIH Medicities project.
Mr. Richard Miller
Group Commercial Director National Health Service
Richard joined IUIH in December 2016 to head up the IUIH commercial team with a remit for developing and implementing the commercial strategy for the IUIH Programme. He has extensive international experience having been Commercial Director at King’s aCollege Hospital from 2010-16 where he developed the Trust’s commercial presence across India and the Middle East. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply and was Director of Procurement at King’s from 2005-10 where he played a key role on the London Procurement Board helping to develop and lead collaborative procurement projects and leverage the capitals purchasing potential. He has 22 years’ experience in the NHS and spent 9 years in senior management roles in the manufacturing & service industries.
Dr. Gautam Marwah
Group IUIH UK Clinics Director
Dr Gautam Marwah, MBBS, MS (Orthopaedics), MRCSEd, MRCGP, DRCOG, PG Cert (H&SC) is a portfolio GP providing services in the NHS and the private sector. Dr Marwah trained in India as an Orthopaedic surgeon where he worked briefly as a Consultant before moving to England. He attained extensive experience in the NHS having worked in various parts of the country in Primary and Secondary care, attaining knowledge and experience across a broad gamut of medical and surgical specialities. He has been part of the IUIH programme from its inception. Among his various roles, he lead business development of GP resilience pathways in the North East of England, developing innovative integrated healthcare partnerships between primary and secondary care. He has consistently demonstrated excellent time management and communication skills, and a meticulous and decisive approach.
Ms. Pamela Munn
IUIH Group Financial Controller
Pamela is a qualified accountant (ACMA) with a background in Investment Banking and Commodity Trading businesses. Most recently, she worked in Finance for a major European Investment bank for 11 years, where she developed her extensive knowledge and expertise in financial reporting, cost management, FX management, budgeting, financial instruments and all aspects of financial control across many business areas. Latterly she moved into a project management role in Finance where she gained experience of project management techniques and information systems architecture.
Mrs. Miriam Bartlett
IUIH Group Legal Counsel
Miriam is the Group Legal Counsel for the Indo UK Institute of Health. She specialised in litigation and corporate insurance during her private practice career in London. She trained with Hogan Lovells International LLP (1990 – 1993), joined Pinsent Masons LLP in 1993 and became a litigation partner in 2001. In 2005 she joined Reynolds Porter Chamberlain LLP as a partner in its corporate insurance team. She has extensive experience of litigation and mediation. She co-ordinated the House of Lords class action in the groundbreaking case of Royal Bank of Scotland v. Etridge (2001) on consent and undue influence. She is married to an orthopaedic surgeon and has two daughters.
Ms. Victoria Lusher
Group Stakeholder Director
Victoria Lusher is Group Stakeholder Director for the Indo UK Institute of Health Medicity Programme. She has over 15 years experience in managing large stakeholder groups and shareholders across healthcare. Victoria has been instrumental and key member of the early team that is responsible for taking the IUIH Programme into its implementation stage. Having worked in the National Health Service, Victoria brings a wealth of experience and knowhow on multilevel engagement with an aim to align objectives, functions, procedure and requirements to a common outcome. She has been at the center of managing and coordinating multiple teams in the health service and her previous experience includes Cancer Services at Northwick Park Hospital which is a 1000 Bed hospital in North London.
Mr. Vinay Singhal
IUIH Board Member- India And Advisor to MD & Group CEO
Mr Singhal has General Management experience via his role as President / CEO of Fortis Healthcare where he had bottom line responsibilities. As CEO of Fortis Healthcare he erected the most modern (in 2001) 300 Bed Hospital in record time of 18 months following global standards in collaboration with PHS, Boston.
After graduating in Mechanical Engineering from BITS Pilani in 1966, Vinay worked in reputed Indian and MNC organizations – DCM, Hindustan Unilever, JK, Indo Rama and Fortis. His technical experience covers Operations, Maintenance and Project Management in large industrial plants. He has demonstrated expertise in Energy Management and was awarded coveted Chairman’s Medal for executing two Cogen Plants in record time by Unilever. In 2005, he joined Clinton Foundation (HIV/AIDS Initiative) as Country Director and coordinated all activities of the Foundation in India, which is the largest country operation of Clinton Foundation worldwide. He is now Director, Nanhi Chhaan, a Foundation engaged for increasing awareness against Female feticide & infanticide and empowering women. It was launched nationally by the President of India Mrs Pratibha Patil from Gandhi Darshan, Raj Ghat.
Mr. Pardeep Sood
Vice President of Infrastructure
Mr. Pardeep Sood is a Mechanical Engineer with over 28 years of experience in Utility Maintenance (Operations), Plant machinery Maintenance & Managing Construction Projects right from development to delivery encompassing planning, monitoring and controlling phases of project lifecycle, overall inter-discipline co-ordination and resource planning. A strategic planner with expertise in planning and executing construction projects with a flair for adopting modern construction methodologies in compliance with quality standards. Holds the distinction of executing numerous construction projects within a strict time schedule with stringent measures for Cost and Quality control. Pardeep has excellent relationship management, analytical and negotiation skills with deftness in swiftly ramping up projects in co-ordination with clients, Architects, Engg Consultants and contractors.
Dr. Rajdeep Chhina (MBBS,MD)
IUIH Chief Operating Officer – India
Dr Rajdeep Singh Chhina (MBBS, MD) is a respected and popular Interventional Radiologist currently practising in India. As COO of IUIH, he wants to transform the healthcare of millions of Indians.
He has worked and observed in number of institutions worldwide, including Henry Ford, Cleveland Clinic, Medanta, DMC and GMC. He independently managed RHC of DMC at the young age of 22 . With a proud academic record, he holds various distinctions, medals during MBBS and scored the highest marks in University examinations for MD/MS.
Dr Singh has over 30 national and international publications along with many chapters published in books. Besides his career in Medicine, he has leadership qualities leading various sports and cultural teams at various levels.
Ms. Ruksana Choudhury
Ruksana joined IUIH in 2016. She has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply with over 10 years’ experience in NHS procurement. Ruksana has demonstrated a proven ability to significantly reduce procurement cost by standardising processes, negotiating favourable terms and streamlining supplier channels with experience in successfully managing budgets, efficiency programmes & capital projects.
